ANNOTATION The official science asserts that the Bogomil Movement has emerged in Bulgaria in the Xth century as a result of people's indignation against the feudal oppression; that it was a heresy, which has contributed to the weakening of the church and state under the rule of the Tsar Simeon's son - Tsar Petar and his heirs. The book of Dr. Phil.Sc. (Culture) Vidka Nikolova, based on a scientific research of the history of ideas presents the Bogomil Movement as a model of Bulgarian Christian understanding of the world and dates its beginning in the I century AD. The author postulates the thesis that the pre-image of the Bogomil Movement has been conceived here, in Bulgaria, upon the foundations of the ancient First Testament Thracian Orphic cultural circle and the "retrieved" proto-Bulgarian cultural circle. Thus the Bogomilism gains prominence as a unique asset of Bulgarian national culture. The book presents the first analysis of The Secret Book of the Bogomils in the light of the New Testament - The Second Testament. The author has elaborated the theme of the "Bogomil iconography" and presents it with 62 images in the book. Quite the contrary to the official thesis about the dualist-sectarian character of Bogomilism, the book presents not only the proto-Christian origin of the Bogomilism, but also its rigorous Second Testament monotheism. Thus, the movement itself is revealed as pre-image of the Third Testament Word of Universal Master Beinsa Douno widely known as Petar Dunov. Such correlation of ideas has been studied for the first time and presented here, in the second revised and supplemented edition. The book "The Bogomil Movement. Pre-Images and Ideas on the way from the First to the Third Testament" with its innovative approach and thoroughness, is targeted mainly towards professional audience. Besides the scientific contributions the book radiates a very important spiritual message to the broad readership in Bulgaria and abroad. |
